A PDO Lifting Thread (Barbed Threads) is a self-dissolvable and self-absorbable suture material made from polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible material widely used in medical sutures for decades. In aesthetics, PDO threads are used in non-surgical facelifts and skin tightening treatments because of their unique ability to:
PDO threads are not a contraindication to plastic surgery. They are made of biodegradable, self-dissolving material that begins to dissolve in about 2 months. As they start dissolving, the threads stimulate natural collagen production around them.
